Happy Birthday Jackson Browne

Clyde Jackson Browne was born October 9, 1948 in Heidelberg, Germany. His father Clyde Jack Browne aka “Big Clyde” was stationed there as he was in the military and worked as a theater critic for “Stars & Stripes” magazine. At the age of three, Browne and his family moved to his grandfather’s house in Los Angeles, California.

After graduating in 1966, Browne joined the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, then left the band and moved to NYC after realizing it was a really stupid band name. Jackson became a staff writer for Elektra Records and hooked up with Nico of Andy Warhol fame. In 1968, following his breakup with Nico, Browne returned to Los Angeles and met Glenn Frey.

Doctor My Eyes

In 1971, Browne signed with Geffen Records and released his debut album that contained the hit song, “Doctor My Eyes”. Many incredible songs and albums were to follow in his long and illustrious career.

Jackson had a famous beef with James Taylor, but the 2 have since reconciled. During a Jackson Brownes concert, Taylor and his crew ran on stage, shoved Browne into the crowd and beat him up. They were rushed back stage and never came back out. The next day they both explained the situation to Madhouse Magazine. “I wasn’t even trying to run onstage and do bro like that,” said Taylor. “I was supposed to get at bro behind the scenes, but he wanna run onstage and not holla at me like a real n*gga, so I run onstage and take the mic from blood and then we beat his ass from the stage to the street. And that’s how it goes.”

Fisticuffs

Jackson Browne once got into a fistfight while accepting a peace award at the Gandhi Award Ceremony. “The guy was a total jackass” said Browne. “I saw red when this jerk farted in my direction and then waved it towards me with his hand. Who does that?” Browne kneed the man in the groin repeatedly and then jammed his head in the toilet. Jackson flew into a rage tearing a sink out of the wall and then bit the mans ear off. Browne was seen leaving the venue with the ear still in his mouth and blood on his lips.

Jackson has been married twice and has two children. He had a very public tumultuous relationship with actress Daryl Hannah. He has a net worth of $50 Million and on his free time he enjoys long walks and saving the world.
